We are working in partnership with a residential home in the Newcastle area to recruit Children's support workers to work with children and young people with autism, SEMH and complex needs between the ages of 6 and 19.

You will be required to work in partnership with the school, parents or carers and other agencies. The main focus of the job is to support the young people to be independent as possible.

Job purpose:
• To provide day to day care of children and young people within an environment of pro-social learning that promotes positive attachments and relationships
• To support young people in maximising their potential in a safe and caring environment
• To achieve the highest standard of service delivery as measured by Ofsted against the Children's Homes National Minimum Standards
• Understanding and knowledge of the issues faced by this children
• Experience of personal care
• Commitment to safeguarding and protecting the children
• Commitment to the care and well-being of the children

You will need experience of working with children in a similar setting and a NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent.

Please note: due to Ofsted regulations it is a genuine occupational requirement that applicants are aged 21 or over.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
