One of my clients are looking to appoint SEN teaching assistants to support pupils within a SEN secondary school in Southwark. This school has excellent transport links and is accessible by bus, tube and car although parking is limited.The school itself caters for secondary aged pupils with multiple special needs including Autism. For this role you must be confident working with secondary aged pupils and managing their behaviour.

Responsibilities
• Encouraging positive social interaction between pupils who may struggle to engage with other pupils.
• Managing pupils behaviour
• Ensuring students engage with lessons, providing academic support and working under the instruction of the class teacher.
• Helping the students with their life skills
• Some personal care

For this role, you will have:
• Experience working in specialist schools such as SEN schools, Pupil Referral Units or in Youth Work.
• Previous support work within a school or other child related experience
• Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour
• Happy to work one to one and small group work
• An enthusiastic and friendly, yet firm approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
