Protocol are looking for thoughtful, creative, patient individuals with the ability to encourage and support, and remain positive in the face of challenges. A quiet and calm approach is essential, as are outstanding communication skills. Previous experience working with children with Autism or SEN is desirable but, the right personal qualities are more important than experience

You need to be able to work positively as part of a team and to communicate sensitively and appropriately with children, parents and colleagues

Job Purpose: Working closely with the class teacher, the purpose of the Teaching Assistant role is to enable full and independent access to the curriculum, key working support and supervision to students. Role Responsibilities:
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The primary role is to support the class teacher in all aspects of work. This will include; • To help develop pupil's skills and behaviours either 1:1 or in small groups, in line with agreed individual educational plans and behaviour management plans. • To apply agreed strategies for supporting pupils with individual class teachers should behaviour management issues arise in a lesson. To assist and support all staff within the classroom where required. • Helping and supporting the smooth running of the class

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
