I am currently looking for a Science Technician to work in a mainstream secondary school in Leeds. Main responsibilities will include:

• Preparing Science equipment & chemicals for practical lessons, for KS3 - KS5.
• Offering advice to colleagues about the practical needs against the Science curriculum.
• Maintain the stock of equipment and chemicals, ability to complete orders.
• Maintaining the health and safety of labourites and classrooms following experiments; correct disposal and cleaning of equipment and working space.
• Advice staff and students of the correct handling and use of chemicals and equipment, including advice about health and safety.
• Engage and work with students in practical lessons.

The is a good' school to work in, within a supportive Science department. The role is full time, initially to start on a term contract, with the view to go permanent. Guideline of the hours, 7:30am to 3:30pm, exact timing to be confirmed.

Ideal candidates will hold minimum of a Science degree and have experience working within laboratories, ideally within a school. Should hold sound knowledge of science curriculum up to KS5 in order to assist with practical sessions.

Candidates should hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
