We're looking for dedicated support assistants to work with students with profound needs, at a specialist education setting in Darlington. Someone who is motivated by helping others, patient and resilient would be perfect for this role.
The school provides care and education and support young people who have complex needs and specialise in the communication and learning challenges associated with this.
Key responsibilities
• To ensure high standards of personal hygiene for each student and support them with personal care needs
• To promote structure, boundaries and domestic routines; ensuring a pleasant, clean and safe environment for the students in your care
• To carry out all duties, as directed by the class teachers to maximise learning opportunities for all children and young people
• To undertake relevant training programmes as and when required
• You must have some experience within an Educational setting, working with Special Educational Needs, or within a domicillary care capacity.
• Further qualifications in Manual Handling/Hoist training are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
