Are you a secondary qualified teacher? Have you got experience working with students with additional needs? Are you able to provide tailored learning opportunities for young people?

Protocol Education are working with a special school in the Darlington area in order to recruit experienced Secondary Teachers to teach vulnerable young people with varying needs, including Moderate and Profound Needs, and challenging behaviours.

The school are looking for dynamic Secondary Teachers who have experience working with students with various Special Educational Needs (SEN). The successful candidate will be required to deliver engaging lessons in their specialist subject area to small groups of students; the ability to teach other subjects would also be beneficial. This special school caters for pupils aged 11 to 16 who are unable to attend mainstream education due to their needs, so excellent behaviour management and knowledge of a range of relevant SENd practices and techniques is essential. You will be responsible for creating a positive and safe environment for all young people.

To be considered for the role you must have:

Recognised teaching qualification PGCE or equivalent (QTS).
Excellent subject knowledge across curriculum.
Outstanding behaviour management with a calm but firm approach.
Experience working within SENd.
Team Teach or similar de-escalation training (beneficial).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
