A specialist school in Doncaster is looking to meet with enthusiastic Teaching Assitants who are looking for day to day or long-term work within SEND. SEND experience isn't absolutely essential, but you must be able to evidence your suitability to working in their school.
The school caters for pupils with ASD with most pupils having secondary difficulties with communication and some pupils with PMLD/SLD. The age groups are 11-19 although pupils are grouped by ability and needs. The school is a challenging one, with many pupils exhibiting challenging behaviour at times.
The teaching assistants need to have Manual Handling, Personal Care and PMLD Experience. If you are Team Teach and Makaton trained, it is advantageous, but not essential.
School are looking to meet Teaching Assistants for either bank work or longer term, and are particularly keen to meet with newly qualified TA's who are looking for their first SEND placements, or to build on existing experience.
