A specialist school in WEM is looking to meet with enthusiastic Teachers who are looking for day to day or long-term work within SEND. SEND experience isn't absolutely essential, but you must be able to evidence your suitability to working in their school.
The school caters for pupils with ASD, with most pupils having secondary difficulties with communication and some pupils with PMLD. The age groups are 11-19 although pupils are grouped by ability and needs. The school is a challenging one, with many pupils exhibiting challenging behaviour at times.
Team Teach and Advanced Team Teach training is advantageous, but not essential. Other training used by the school include Makaton, PECS and Manual Handling.
School are looking to meet Teachers for either bank work or longer term, and are particularly keen to meet with other Teachers who are looking for their first SEND placements, or to build on existing experience.
They are looking to work with people straightaway but also in January, so please get in touch for more information regardless of your availability.
