As a behaviour support specialist your role will require perseverance, confidence and determination as you may need to handle challenging situations strongly, therefore you will need to be prepared. You will need to be flexible, have plenty of enthusiasm, motivation, good communication skills and the ability to work 1-1 or with small groups across multiple age groups on specific programmes if required. Teaching is not limited to a classroom; your role will be based inside and outside the school to ensure you always reinforce and develop new skills whether that be during lunchtime or visits to the community. Many of the students in have additional complex needs, such as ASD / Asperger's, ADHD, Speech & Language difficulties and Learning Difficulties. The most important part of your role is to create and promote positive outcomes and behaviour. This is improved by clear boundaries and structure, to create emotional stability and physical safety.

The Role:
• Start Date, September 2019.
• Full time, Monday - Friday.
• The London Borough of Croydon.
• Salary £60 - 80 per day.

Requirements:
• Relevant experience working which children.
• Passionate about working with children with social, emotional and mental health challenges.
• Capable of dealing with challenging behaviour, promoting focus within a classroom environment and giving on-going 1:1 support.
• Able to provide 2 relevant references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
