Our Shropshire client is currently looking to recruit a KS1 Higher Level Teaching assistants (HLTA)'s) for a lovely primary school

Have you recently qualified as a HLTA? Or do you have experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) and looking for a full-time Permanent role in a supportive and Nurturing primary school with excellent leadership?

Person Specification:

Knowledge & understanding of the National Curriculum including the literacy and numeracy strategies.
Very good level of behaviour management strategies.
Very good understanding of Safeguarding and First Aid procedures.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills both in working relationship with young pupils and in forming effective professional relationships with a wide range of contacts.
Good organisational and time management skills.

About the role:

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) you will have to provide support for pupils, the teacher and the school in order to raise standards of achievement for all pupils (e.g. SEN, EAL, GT, all underachieving groups), by utilising advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes, and to encourage pupils to become independent learners, to provide support for their welfare, and to support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life.

Plan and prepare lessons with teachers, participating in all stages of the planning cycle, including in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/work plans.

To complement teachers' delivery of the national curriculum and contribute to the development of other support staff, pupils and school policies and strategies.

To work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist teachers in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. To supervise whole classes occasionally during the short-term absence of teachers.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
