A faith based primary school in London Borough of Ealing is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join their team from January. The role is to support a student in Year 5 who has Downs syndrome; the child is independent and has basic reading and number skills. The successful candidate is someone who can be given learning objectives, take initiative and plan activities with guidance to best meet the child's needs; be calm and patient, never showing frustration towards the student.

To work with this child, you will need a good level of both spoken and written English. The school have a history of providing extensive support to their support staff and pride themselves on their school values which promote resilience, creativity and high achievement.

Ideally you will:

- Have previous experience of working in a School Nursery or School Classroom setting.
- Preferably has experience of working with children who have additional needs, both physical and behavioural.
- Have good communication skills with staff, children and parents.
- Be able to work as part of a team, but also use initiative and self- direction when needed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
