Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Hours: 9am - 4pm

Protocol Education are working with a Special Needs Centre in Camden, located near Swiss Cottage Station (Jubilee line). This is a huge Special Needs Education centre for students aged 16 - 25 years.

About the role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be providing one to one support with your student and sometimes supporting small groups of students. You will on occasions accompany your student to swimming lessons, assist them with domestic skills and ICT and media exercises and work closely with Occupational therapists and Speech and Language Therapists to carry out exercises; which will aid students' development.

You will support your student with their academic exercises. The students will have a structured day and you will be required to keep records of each activity, for each child to have a record of learning progress for the day. Written feedback on their behaviour is also compulsory.


About the Centre:

The centre is part of College establishment and through working in partnership with Camden Local Authority is a specialist provider for young people aged 16-25 who have Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and for young people with Autism and associated behavioural difficulties.
All learners enjoy a rich timetable that utilises learners' interests to stimulate them whilst using these as a vehicle for learning.

To be Eligible the Attendance Officer must have/be:

A minimum of 5 GCSE's or equivalent including Maths and English. Able to provide two professional references that cover the last two years of employment. Hold a current DBS certificate that is registered with the Update Service or be willing to complete one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
