We are working with well-established SEND School based in Lewisham, who are seeking 3 learning support assistants to work within their school on a long term basis. They are seeking someone in their Secondary phase although they cater for pupils between the ages of 5-14. The school have mainly SEMH pupils so it is vital that you have experience with this type of SEND. This school pride themselves on their sporting abilities, so they are seeking someone who is open to doing sports for part of the school day.
The pupils in their schools have been referred from mainstream schools around the Lewisham area who struggle to cope within a mainstream environment, this school gives them the opportunity for a more tailored approach where they learn how to manage day to day struggles they faced within their previous school.

The role:
• 5 days a week, term time only: 8:30-4:00pm
• Working in a secondary class
• Based in the Borough of Lewisham
• Working immediately for the rest of the academic year

You must have:
• Experience of working with PECs or Makaton
• At least 1 year experience working with SEHM and challenging behaviour
• Experience of supporting pupils of a Primary or Secondary age

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
