Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Montessori Nursery Manager: 40 hours per week, to join their well-established setting in the North of Bristol. Montessori is a method of education that is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and supported teaching. In Montessori classrooms children make their own creative choices in their learning, while highly trained teachers guide the process. These peaceful classrooms are carefully designed and equipped with traditional Montessori materials so that children can easily follow their own learning journeys at their own pace.

As the Nursery Manager you will be responsible for the internal organisation, management and control of the Nursery School. You will be supernumerary as this will enable you to run the school effectively from a pedagogical and business perspective. You will be responsible for leading the team of teachers to deliver outstanding teaching following the Montessori method whilst ensuring the business model delivered is sustainable and profitable

Qualifications:
• A Montessori Diploma ( Essential)
• Qualified Teacher Status (Desirable)
• A valid Paediatric First Aid certificate (Desirable)
• A valid Food Hygiene certificate (Desirable)
• A valid Safeguarding Lead certificate (Desirable)

Knowledge & Experience:
• Substantial post qualifying experience of working with children aged 2-5 in a Montessori setting
• Experience of managing a team
• Experience of working within and implementing the EYFS statutory framework
• Experience of working in partnership with parents
• Have general computer literacy and a range of IT skills
• Experience of OFSTED inspections or other inspections/legal bodies and their requirements within day care on non-domestic premises
• Understanding and knowledge of the local community
• Knowledge of child development and meeting children's needs
• Sound knowledge of the Montessori method

As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £40.00

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
