Protocol Education are currently working with a mainstream primary school based in Lewisham. The school caters for a wide range of abilities and moderate to severe special needs . There is also a provision for students with ASD. The school are looking to recruit a SEN teaching assistant to start in January and continue for the rest of the academic year. Class sizes are small and there are usually at least 2 TA's in the class supporting the teacher.

Having experience dealing with challenging behaviour and being proactive in your approach to these students is beneficial - however the school is willing to consider candidates that have a keen interest in supporting these young individuals.

We are looking for passionate support staff to work 1:1 and with small groups.

The school is located close to a mainline train station and various local bus routes.

Key Skills
• Experience working with SEN children age 5-11 in either a school or care setting
• Professional friendly approach
• Enthusiastic and resilient
• Experience managing challenging behaviour

Desirable But Not Essential
• TEAM TEACH trained
• Knowledge of PECS and MAKATON
• wheelchair handling and personal care experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
