SEND Teaching Assistants - Wakefield
We are currently looking for SEND Teaching Assistants to work in specialist setting based in Wakefield. This schools provides an education for students with social emotional mental health and associated conditions. The particular groups you are working with could be KS3, 4 and 5. If you have experience in supporting young people or have worked in a an alternative school setting or provider then this will put you at a distinct advantage.
You will ideally hold a Team Teach certification or be prepared to train for one as we run courses to get you certified. You must have a passion for working with young people aged 7-19. The work can be very rewarding; however it can also be challenging to so you need to be resilient, clam, composed and have the ability to manage challenging behaviour in the school. Many students have challenging home lives and have complex communication needs, learning difficulties or are high on the autistic spectrum and some occasionally present some challenging behaviours. This role is initially temporary however many go on to secure permanent employment in this school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
