Protocol Education are looking for an experienced Youth Worker to work in our Outstanding School, developing both academic studies and life skills such as; drama, shopping and food technology. As part of the role you will be working 1:1 or support a teacher, teaching small groups of learners with special needs such as autism and physical disabilities.

As a specialist establishment, the school require someone who is open and flexible about working in special needs and is keen to advance their skills. As part of the role, we offer accredited CPD that include learning strategies, behaviour techniques and medical procedures.

Pupil well-being is at the centre of all they do as the school strives for their learners to be happy, develop skills and competencies for life and grow in to secure and confident young people taking their place in society.

No previous experience is needed, but working in education, Youth clubs and care homes or residential homes would be beneficial.

This is a full-time support position up until the end of the 2019/20 academic school year, with a competitive salary.

Main Duties:
·Supporting students 1:1 with numeracy, literacy & sensory integration
·Encouraging social skills and independent living through community work i.e. shopping, visiting the local farm & cooking
·Assessing pupils' levels and ability
·Behaviour management
·Comfortable or open to supporting learners with personal care

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
