As a learning support assistant, teaching is not limited to a classroom, your role will be based inside and outside the school to ensure you always reinforce and develop new skills whether that be during lunchtime or visits to the community. A vital part of your role will be to create an environment that will empower each child to become confident, independent life-learners who can express themselves and their choices, whilst safeguarding, their happiness and safety. Our school believes that all pupils are entitled to a personalised curriculum that is centred around their specific needs and potential. The aim of the school is simple; they believe every child should leave school being able to read, write and use a range of mathematical strategies to the highest standard. Staff must take responsibility of supporting every pupil in a healthy, safe and friendly environment for all pupils to contribute, take risks, learn and achieve their full potential and develop skills for adulthood. Encouraging them to be life-long learners, respectful, well rounded, able to achieve, aspirational, positive, polite, kind, enthusiastic and happy individuals.

The Role:
• Starting in 2019 - 2020 academic year.
• Full time, Monday - Friday.
• The London Borough of Southwark.
• Salary £60 - 70 per day.

Requirements:
• Relevant experience working in schools.
• Previous experience working with SEN children, and passionate about the learning and development of SEND pupils.
• Capable of dealing with challenging behaviour, promoting focus within a classroom environment and giving on-going 1:1 support.
• Able to provide 2 relevant references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
