Protocol Education's Secondary South West branch are currently looking for a Youth Worker to be based within a school in Sutton. You will be working with children aged from 11-16 who are at risk of being excluded from their mainstream school.

You will work from a site based in Wallington during term time between the hours of 8.30-3.30pm. The role is classroom based as part of the learning team, to assist these young people in developing the skills to integrate back into their mainstream school.
These children have more often than not come from troubled backgrounds and as a result deal with associated social and emotional issues.
We look for:

• Experience working with young people, preferably in Youth Centres or residential children's homes
• Previous experience with challenging behaviours
• Calm but positive personality
• Skills to empower young people to make them believe they can achieve
• Excellent listening skills
• Maths and English GCSE as a minimum

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
