This a role for a Pupil Referral Unit for secondary students who have been dismissed from mainstream education and have experience facing difficulties whilst trying to access schooling. The students can have challenging behaviours, which requires staff to be, tough and resilient. As a Youth Mentor you will need to be a dedicated individual, wanting to help pupils achieve their academic goals in this alternative education setting.
This is a full-time support position up until the end of the 2019/2020 academic school year, with a competitive salary.
Responsibilities:
·Managing pupil's behaviour
·Ensuring students engage with lessons, providing academic support and working under the instruction of the class teacher.
·Helping the students with their life skills
For this role, you will have:
·Experience working in specialist schools such as SEN schools, Pupil Referral Units or in Youth Work.
·Previous support work within a school or other child related experience.
·Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour.
·Happy to work one to one and small group work.
·An enthusiastic and friendly, yet firm approach.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
