This role is suited to a candidate who wants to inspire a young person's life for the better.

This role is for people who have had or have relevant experience involving. Youth work, gang violence and social and emotional behaviour and sexual exploitation. This role will be challenging, so you will need to be prepared. The right candidate will need to make a strong approach in handling challenging roles and be confident.

The ideal candidate will need to have a passion for working with youth, know how to handle tough situations, know how to resolve or de-escalate situation in the correct and efficient manner. Hopefully someone who is resilient and with a strong work ethic towards their work.

The school caters for primary children that have social emotional and mental health difficulties, and involved with gang culture, who may have dealt with sexual abuse /exploitation. A child is referred via their local education authority as a matter of urgency so that they may receive a detailed and individualised curriculum.

To mentor at this school you must have a good understanding of social emotional and mental health difficulties and how to implement education and care to young people with this need. You will need to have a positive approach as well as being patient with good behaviour management. It is desirable to have mentoring/support work experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
