A nursery in Camden is looking for a Catering Assistant to work 20 hours per week to help support the nursery cook in preparing snacks and hot meals for staff and children at the nursery.

Role:

•NVQ Level 3 In Hospitality and Catering
•Experience working in a team environment
•Excellent organisational skills
•Relatable for both children, staff and parents
•Maintain a small sized kitchen
•Good cooking skills
•Good communication skills
•Basic knowledge of food, nutrition allergies/dietary requirements and food hygiene.

Responsibilities:

•To clean up after morning snack time.

•To assist the head cook with planning and preparing a hot pescatarian two course lunch.

•To assist with the setting up and clearing away of the lunchtime meal.

•To assist the head cook with washing up and cleaning of the kitchen.

•To prepare afternoon snacks for the children

•To assist the head cook with deep cleaning as required.

•To assist the head cook in food orders and menu ideas.

•To undertake cooking activities with the children under the supervision of the nursery team.

•To help prep any food for nursery events.

Please note: We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £40.00.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
