Secondary School - Head of Chemistry Teacher
Job Description: Protocol Education are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic teacher for a head of chemistry teaching job in St. Albans, Hertfordshire. The candidate will need to have experience teaching all three of the science topics but will have credible experience teaching chemistry at A-level and GCSE. The science department is led by one of the senior leadership team, as head of chemistry you will be expected to collaborate together to progress the department. The successful applicant will be working in a modern school that believes in giving every student the chance to succeed. They will also be able to develop their own professional skills as a chemistry teacher.
Role and Responsibilities:
-Deliver a high standard of teaching to Key stages 3-5
-Maintaining lesson planning and preparation
-Checking and assessing schoolwork
-Attending all staff meetings
-Liaising with parents when needed
-Monitoring extracurricular activities
-Maintaining personal professional development
Personal specifications:
-Highly motivated individual
-Committed to education
-Ability to create a highly energetic environment
-Able to think and teach outside of the box
-Disciplined
-Able to work in a high-pressure environment
-Able to work with a time scale
Qualifications needed:
-Qualified teacher status or overseas equivalent
-Experience of teaching chemistry at key stages three to five
-Right to work in the UK
