We are currently recruiting for a specialist teaching assistant role in a mainstream primary school for children and young people aged 4-19 with Autism, ASD and restraint training is needed. Your role will require perseverance, confidence and determination as you may need to handle challenging situations strongly, therefore you will need to be prepared.

Students benefit from individual learning programmes and one-to-one teaching, as well as paired and group work. As a specialist TA you will be required to help the child to progress at his or her own pace and work towards achieving their maximum potential and leading them live rewarding lives.
This is a full-time support position potentially up to the 2020 academic school year end, with a competitive salary.

Responsibilities:

·Managing pupil's behaviour.
·Ensuring students engage with lessons, providing academic support and working under the instruction of the class teacher.
·Helping the students with their life skills.

For this role, you will have:

·Experience working in specialist schools such as SEN schools, Pupil Referral Units or in Youth Work.
·Previous support work within a school or other child related experience.
·Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour.
·Happy to work one to one and small group work.
·An enthusiastic and friendly, yet firm approach.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
