A special needs school in Greenwich split across two sites is seeking to appoint a teaching assistant to work alongside other personal care teaching assistants and an experienced special needs teacher.

This position has arisen due to increased headcount on the school roll and increased care responsibility in the classroom. All applicants must have recent experience working with children with special educational needs, in either a primary school or specialist SEN environment. The class consists of 5-8 pupils with a broad range of learning difficulties and complex medical needs.

You would be working alongside a higher learning teaching assistant who has progressed through the school's CPD (continuous professional development). You will also benefit from the schools exceptional CPD and in house training schemes.

The ideal candidate:

• A proven record of supporting SEN children with a range of needs.
• Have a basic understanding of PECS and Makaton
• Be willing to learn
• Have a pro-active way of working
• Able to use initiative and follow instructions

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
