The school caters for the needs of pupils with a wide range of learning difficulties and their class sizes are a high adult to child ratio to each class to support the different needs of the children. The school is looking for a learning support assistant aiming to provide a happy, stimulating and safe learning environment where pupils are positively encouraged to engage in their learning.


To ensure students are driven, the school's curriculum is practical and engaging where teachers have set specific targets for pupils which will meet their needs. The role requires a confident LSA, one with experience working in SEN would be preferred, however it is not essential. The school requires staff to empower pupils to overcome their challenges and take an active role in managing their needs.

This is a full-time support position up until the end of the 2019/2020 academic school year, with a competitive salary.

Responsibilities:
·Managing pupil's behaviour
·Ensuring students engage with lessons, providing academic support and working under the instruction of the class teacher.
·Helping the students with their life skills


For this role, you will have:

·Experience working in specialist schools such as SEN schools, Pupil Referral Units or in Youth Work.
·Previous support work within a school or other child related experience.
·Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour.
·Happy to work one to one and small group work.
·An enthusiastic and friendly, yet firm approach.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
