This role is based in a special secondary school catering to the needs of 56 children with speech, language and communication difficulties. The ideal candidate for this role will need to be patient, and have a passion towards the academic development of pupils, and the ability to engage, empower and encourage students with special needs.

The most important part of your role is to ensure all students are happy, healthy and empowered individuals who participate in, and contribute towards society.

This is a full-time support position up until the end of the 2019/2020 academic school year, with a competitive salary.

Responsibilities:

·Managing pupil's behaviour
·Ensuring students engage with lessons, providing academic support and working under the instruction of the class teacher.
·Helping the students with their life skills

For this role, you will have:

·Experience working in specialist schools such as SEN schools, Pupil Referral Units or in Youth Work.
·Previous support work within a school or other child related experience.
·Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour.
·Happy to work one to one and small group work.
·An enthusiastic and friendly, yet firm approach.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
