We are currently recruiting for a Learning Mentor to work in a school with pupils with challenging behaviour, therefore you will need to be strong and ready for daily challenges. The role will require you to be flexible, have plenty of passion, enthusiasm, good communication skills and have the capacity to work 1:1 or with small groups across multiple age groups.

Our school believe each child has a voice to be heard and ensure that everyone is listened to. Staff are supported alongside a strong team of, therapists, health professionals, specialists and family support.

This is a full-time support position up until the end of the 2019/2020 academic school year, with a competitive salary.

Responsibilities:

• Managing pupil's behaviour.
• Ensuring students engage with lessons, providing academic support and working under the instruction of the class teacher.
• Helping the students with their life skills.

For this role, you will have:

• Experience working in specialist schools such as SEN schools, Pupil Referral Units or in Youth Work.
• Previous support work within a school or other child related experience.
• Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour.
• Happy to work one to one and small group work.
• An enthusiastic and friendly, yet firm approach.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
