This role is for an individual who is dedicated to supporting pupils with severe cognition and learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex medical needs. We are looking for a strong and experienced Youth Support Worker wanting to boost their skill set by working in a special needs primary school.

The school's building is a state-of-the-art purpose-built which includes 11 classrooms, sensory rooms, soft playrooms, a large hall, a studio for physical activities, play areas, ICT room, Food Technology room, Art and DT room and a small Hydrotherapy pool. Most classrooms have sensory areas and share access to small outdoor terraces. The School is fully accessible and has 3 lifts, an elevated corridor as well as changing areas ensuring to meet the specific needs of all the pupils requiring extra support.


This is a full-time support position up until the end of the 2019/2020 academic school year, with a competitive salary.

Responsibilities:

·Managing pupil's behaviour
·Ensuring students engage with lessons, providing academic support and working under the instruction of the class teacher.
·Helping the students with their life skills

For this role, you will have:

·Experience working in specialist schools such as SEN schools, Pupil Referral Units or in Youth Work.
·Previous support work within a school or other child related experience.
·Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour.
·Happy to work one to one and small group work.
·An enthusiastic and friendly, yet firm approach.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
