Location
Northumberland, England
Sector

Salary
Guaranteed Pay

Due to a growth of business in the Northumberland area Protocol Education are recruiting for candidates to support pupils in their day to day learning and routines; this may include acting as a behaviour mentor or delivering lessons in the absence of the teacher. Candidates will work in schools throughout Hexham, Corbridge and Prudhoe. Ability to drive and access to your own car is highly desirable.

Your role will demand flexibility and initiative. Your focus will be on supporting progress by providing classroom supervision for students whose regular teacher is absent. You will be expected to deliver pre-planned learning activities and establish productive working relationships with students in a stimulating and orderly learning environment.

If successful you will be a graduate or have relevant transferable skills such as experience working as a Youth Worker/ Police or Military/ sport coach / care work. Candidates with personal experience of dealing with SEND and challenging behaviour within their home and family life will also be considered.

We understand that you may want some certainty of earnings when you are doing daily supply and we offer a Guaranteed Work Agreement (GWA) as an option for successful candidates. A GWA provides you with the security of guaranteed income whilst you are working in daily cover assignments.

How it works
• We guarantee you a certain number of days work in a term at a fixed daily pay rate.
• In return, you agree to commit to Protocol Education for the term, make yourself available for work and complete your assignments professionally and to the satisfaction of the school.
• If we don't find you work for all the guaranteed days in that term, we pay you for all the days you were short in a single lump sum at the end of term.
What's the catch?
There are no catches. We developed the GWA to help those teachers who prefer to do daily supply enjoy the same certainty of income as teachers in long-term roles. You can end the agreement at any time without penalty, or you can take up a long-term role mid-term without losing your guarantee.
