Location
Leeds, England
Sector

Salary
£60.00 to £80.00 per hour

Protocol Education are a leading staff provider to alternative education settings throughout West Yorkshire. We have excellent working relationships with schools that offer support and learning to children with a wide range of additional needs. This include's children who are autistic, have social and emotional needs or have a range of physical and learning difficulties.

We are currently recruiting for SEN classroom supports roles for schools in Leeds, Bradford, Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield, and are looking at delivering training to ensure that all our new staff have the skills to guarantee them work in the new year.

Children within alternative education settings may present challenging behaviours. For the safety of both the children and staff in a classroom many settings now require Team Teach training, in fact many mainstream settings are now looking to upskill their staff with de-escalation training.

We're looking at placing new staff on Positive Behaviour Management Level Two, which is a two-day course designed to deliver proven, safe strategies for anyone managing challenging behaviour in medium-risk settings. It provides an understanding of the causes of challenging behaviour, along with respectful, supportive and practical strategies for de-escalation and crisis intervention.

All techniques that are taught are situated within an approach to behaviour management which seeks to minimise the need for physical intervention and maintain positive relationships.

We have a number of active clients actively seeking staff who have this training and this is a great opportunity to gain work.

We would welcome new applicants from backgrounds of social care, youth work, psychology, sports or drama graduates as well as ex HM forces and blue light services. We would also welcome mainstream support staff who are looking at moving into Special Education.
