My client is a SEN school based in Barnsley, looking for a specialist teaching assistant to assist with young children with moderate to severe special needs. By providing a range of different teaching approaches and experiences, the client ensures every child is individually taken care of.

The school likes to guarantee parents and carers are equally involved in supporting their child and that every child's voice is heard throughout the process. To support our amazing client, we are looking for a passionate teaching assistant to develop a child's progress and give them full confidence to grow the independence they need.

Specific duties:
-Help SEN pupils to achieve their full potential and build their confidence.
-Working alongside teachers to assess pupils' levels and abilities.
-Using widget symbols and sign language to communicate and teach students daily.
-Liaising with parents and carers regularly.
-Working in a classroom environment as well as on a 1:1 basis.

Requirements:
-Must be confident to support young people in developing their skills.
-Experience in mentoring, teaching, carer for those who have challenging behaviour or complex learning difficulties.
-Passionate about working in SEN.
-Be able to provide a valid DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
-Be able to provide 2 references from most recent employers.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
