Mentor Social Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties

A small inclusive educational provision in the London Borough of Hounslow is currently advertising for a mentor in SEN. The school caters for primary and secondary aged children that have social emotional and mental health difficulties. Each child has been directed to this small school via their local education authority as a matter of urgency so that they may receive a detailed and individualised curriculum.

Mentor specification:

To mentor at this school you must have a good understanding of social emotional and mental health difficulties and how to implement education and care to young people with this need. You will need to have a positive approach as well as being patient with good behaviour management. It is desirable to have mentoring/support work experience.

Ideal Candidate:

Someone that can play a musical instrument/s to a good standard and would feel confident enough to sit with students 1:1 and teach basic music lessons.

Location & Travel:

The school has a good transport links from Hounslow West station with a shuttle bus that also runs every 10 minutes to and from the station. Parking is also available on site. Not far from Hounslow Heath, a local nature reserve that the school often use to escape from the classroom environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
