Protocol Education are working with a multi academy trust special needs school based in Radlett. They cater to the needs of pupils on the autistic spectrum between the ages of 4-19.
The school is committed to ensuring their young people are equipped to make their own choices in life and have the chance to be as independent as they want to be. You will be part of the journey that their pupils take to an independent like although all of the pupils will be on the autistic spectrum.

The role:

• Working Monday to Friday 8:30am till 4:00pm
• Supporting within a class of 6-7 pupils and 2-3 other staff members
• Developing a bespoke timetable for each pupil ensuring their interests and goals are being incorporated within their learning schedule
• Being creative with teaching resources and ensuring that the welfare of all pupils are of upmost importance throughout the day.
• Working under the instruction of the class teacher and other senior members of staff

What we need from you?

• Experience with working with pupils with autism, this can be in any environment including but not limited to; working in a care setting, working within a hospital, SEND school, residential SEND unit etc
• Experience using Makaton or PECs
• A calm and patient personality
• Ideally you would be a car driver as the School is based in a area where public transport links are a small distance however if you drive there is plenty of on site parking.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
