One of our leading special needs schools based in Croydon are currently recruiting for experienced youth mentors to work on a full-time and long-term basis, as classroom assistants. The school is a multi-site provision and caters to both Primary and Secondary aged pupils that have social, emotional and mental health, as well as challenging behaviour.

Due to the needs of the children, the classroom sizes are small, with up to a maximum of 8 children in each class. You will be expected to assist the children alongside the class Teacher and be able to offer them the additional support and guidance that they may need. Therefore, previous experience of having worked in a care or support working environment is preferred, but not essential.

This role is for an immediate start, working from Monday-Friday from 8:30am to 4pm. It is an excellent, long-term opportunity for anyone that is looking to get into the special needs or childcare field. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
