special educational needs (SEN). Our pupils have a range of additional needs, including
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, and learning disabilities.
As a
Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you’ll join a dedicated team of teachers and support staff to create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where every child can thrive.
🎯 Your RoleAs a
SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- 🤝 Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups to access the curriculum.
- 💬 Assist with speech, language, communication, and social skills development.
- 🌈 Help children build confidence, independence, and resilience.
- 👥 Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to adapt learning materials and lessons.
- 🛡️ Promote wellbeing, inclusion, and safeguarding at all times.
- 💡 Support classroom management and positive behaviour strategies.
👤 Person Specification- Empathetic, patient, and passionate about working with children with SEN.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to remain calm, consistent, and professional in challenging situations.
- Motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to supporting children’s learning.
- No previous experience required, full training and support provided.
