We are currently recruiting for an experienced Consultant Social Worker to join Hertfordshire Children’s Services within a Safeguarding Team.
The role will provide expert social work practice, leadership and support across frontline Children’s Services, with a focus on safeguarding and child protection.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage complex and high-risk cases, providing expert social work practice
- Provide professional guidance, mentoring and support to colleagues
- Promote high-quality, child-centred safeguarding practice
- Support team performance and contribute to practice improvement
- Work collaboratively with children, families and partner agencies
- Provide leadership and expertise across safeguarding and child protection
- Contribute to service development and continuous improvement
- Support the development of effective practice across the service
Requirements:
- Social Work England registration
- Significant experience within Children’s Social Care
- Strong safeguarding and child protection experience
- Experience managing complex cases
- Excellent knowledge of statutory social work practice
- Ability to provide professional leadership, mentoring and practice guidance
