Fundraising Coordinator

The Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the implementation of a range of fundraising activities, appeals, and programs as well as maintaining the fundraising database.

Employment Type & Hours:

  • Full-time | 76 hours per fortnight

Responsibilities

  • Support Head of Fundraising and collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to coordinate and implement a range of integrated appeals, campaigns, events and strategies

  • Support with providing accurate and timely reports on fundraising outcomes and activities

  • Maintain CRM/donor management system and fundraising platforms to ensure accurate donor records, including data from third-party fundraising platforms

  • Coordinate community and school fundraising and respond to general fundraising and donation enquiries


Education, Qualifications, Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification/certificate in Marketing, Communications, Fundraising or relevant subject area and/or substantial demonstrated experience in a related field

  • Working with Children Suitability Card [Blue Card] / willingness to obtain a Blue Card prior to commencement

  • National Police Check clearance

  • Current driver’s licence

  • Evidence of vaccination, immunity, or medical exemption for the following preventable diseases prior to commencement: Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella [Chicken Pox]; Pertussis [Whooping Cough]; and COVID-19

  • Three relevant references, including most recent manager


Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 2-years experience in fundraising or marketing within the not-for-profit sector

  • Proven experience in supporting fundraising activities and programs, ideally annual appeals and campaigns,

  • Proven experience in maintaining CRM/donor management systems and fundraising platforms

  • Ability to organise and prioritise work to meet multiple deadlines

  • Adhere to BYS policies and procedures to implement relevant standards

  • Any other tasks as required


Selection Criteria:
In addition to submitting a resume or CV, applicants must address the selection criteria [below] in their cover letter to be considered for shortlisting.


  1. Understanding of and commitment to BYS vision and values

  2. Strong knowledge of methods of fundraising, with experience in implementing fundraising appeals across multiple channels

  3. A solid understanding of CRM/donor management systems and maintaining accurate donor records

  4. A solid understanding of digital marketing and communications to support the fundraising strategy

  5. Skills in planning, coordinating, task and activity monitoring and delivering against defined tasks objectives, methods and outcomes.

  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated success working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to produce high quality communications
