Line Manager - Safety, Aircraft Integration & Qualification
KDC are now recruiting for one of the largest clients in the urban air mobility sector. This is an exciting opportunity for a Line Manager with people management skills to join an established eVTOL company in Germany. The ideal candidate would also have experience with Aircraft Integration and Qualification, as well as Safety Engineering and Avionics Engineering.

Our client is an industry leader in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOL). They plan to offer an air taxi service that can save people time by flying them directly to their destination. Our client is looking for a candidate that is passionate about eVTOL technology that will fit in with the brilliant working culture they are developing.
Your Role
As Line Manager of the Aircraft Integration/Qualification and Safety Team, your main mission is to be the point of contact between the engineering team and the leadership team.
You are responsible for managing a team of about 20 engineers with Aircraft Integration and Qualification, Safety Engineering and Avionics Engineering expertise. Your mission is to mentor, coach, and develop them. You are the go-to person for the professional and personal development of the team members as well as the go-to person for identifying and recruiting the right talent for the team. 

What you’ll do 
  • Disciplinary responsibility for up to 20 employees 
  • Interview and hire the right talent for the team in close collaboration with the Talent Acquisition Team 
  • Onboarding new team members to equip them with the skills and tools to succeed  
  • Train, mentor, and coach team members in close collaboration with the Learning & Development Team 
  • Evaluate individual performance and identify personal development paths and plans for further development of the employees 
  • Identify gaps in the skillset of the teams and come up with solutions accordingly with the stakeholders
  • Actively listen and demonstrate a genuine interest in the team, listen closely to the feedback, concerns, and observations of employees 
  • Identify and solve conflicts within the team 
  • Encourage a healthy and constructive feedback culture 
  • Encourage teamwork and knowledge sharing through building a software competent community  
  • Act as an Agile Evangelist to form self-empowered teams 
Skills you’ll need
  • You have a solid hands-on background in Aircraft Systems Management & Engineering and Safety
  • You can steer an Aircraft Engineering team thanks to line and skill management experience of more than 10 years
  • You can manage team skills, workload vs. workforce and anticipate future needs
  • You have profound experience in aerospace engineering and standards (e.g. CS and ARP)
  • You can develop organisations and you are aware of individual psychology and entrepreneurial choices
