We have a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Nursery Manager in Clapham. This is a permanent full-time opportunity offering a salary of between £25,000 - £30,000 based on experience.
Shifts for the Deputy Nursery Manager are standard 40 hours per week (rotational shift pattern with the Management team)
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 (dependent on experience)
The Nursery is rated Ofsted ‘Good’, capacity for over 70 children and staffing levels of 25 staff. Privately owned, the Clapham setting is one of 4 great Nurseries in London.
The standard of care is paramount, as is the quality and level of teaching – both children and staff have the full support of the Directors and back office staff.
This Clapham Day Nursery and Preschool has been fully refurbished and has great indoor and outdoor areas – children can enjoy climbing, water play and cycling among many other activities - the outdoor area also offers slides and sand pits.
Children are also provided with seasonal and fresh meals to promote healthy growth and development.
As the Deputy Nursery Manager, you will work alongside the Nursery Manager, to ensure the smooth running of the nursery, ensuring that nursery life is safe, stimulating and compliant with EYFS, Ofsted and safeguarding requirements.

Skills required for the Deputy Nursery Manager in Clapham
- Provide leadership in training staff and deliver high quality practice within the nursery.
- Promoting positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues.
- You will have at least 3 years’ experience working within childcare.
- You will have a genuine understanding of, and commitment to, the aims and values of the Nursery and work effectively alongside the Manager and Director in managing the Nursery.
- Excellent knowledge of how young children learn
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong partnerships with parents
- Good people management skills with experience of managing staff performance
Additional requirements for the Deputy Nursery Manager in Clapham
- NVQ Level 3 Qualification or above in childcare
- At least 1 years’ supervisory/management experience
- At least 2 years’ childcare experience
- First Aid certified
- Safeguarding certified
