Wellington based - Product Design / Development – Innovative Design for ManufacturingBased in Wellington, with a highly successful designer / manufacturer of high-quality products for the local and international commercial / residential architectural markets. I'm after a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic and specialised Product Development team.
Their product range has various technically challenging issues incorporated within their successful designs; therefore, applicants will need to have a good engineering knowledge base of various materials and have expertise in the design and development of products from a conceptual stage, right through to the project management of its manufacture.
Desired attributes:
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering – (or similar)
- A minimum of 3 years professional engineering experience with a strong background in product design
- Have a strong understanding of the performance of various materials and how they react during the manufacturing processes, and their implication to the design of the product etc
- Plastic tooling experience would be advantageous but not critical
- Experience in engineering analysis, FEA and CAD (Solidworks)
- Strong “can do” innovative aptitude
