Our client is based in the picturesque South Canterbury region and specialises in the manufacture of unique bio-pharmaceutical products and API’s for the international markets including the USA and Europe.  Currently they are seeking to employ a very experienced Production Manager with proven experience within the pharmaceutical industry.  The senior level role will be accountable for all production activities on our client’s busy site, including day to day production scheduling, team performance, strategic department oversight and - in conjunction with the other members of the leadership team - the introduction of new technologies into the business.
As the successful candidate, you will have previous experience of production / manufacturing / operations within pharmaceuticals, have been involved at a senior / decision making level, able to manage oversight of key technology implementation projects, and be proven in your team management / leadership to allow them to reach their own potential.  Preferably, you will have a good understanding of sterile manufacturing, validation experience and have experience working along side international regulatory authorities such as the FDA, Medsafe etc.
You will have well developed interpersonal skills and will be able to be firm and direct whilst developing and maintaining good working relationships.
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following attributes:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Science/Technology/Engineering or similar
  • Significant experience in production / operations management within a cGMP environment
  • Proven people management experience
  • Highly developed communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to continually evaluate the needs of the business and implement changes where needed
  • Previous project management experience
  • Deliver results within tight deadlines
