The Opportunity:Reporting to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, the Stores and Inventory Coordinator is a newly created role to maximise equipment availability, extend equipment life, procurement and ensuring parts are then stored effectively while ensuring equipment runs cost-effectively with minimal downtime. You’ll be expected to implement and maintain systems, and work in a role that requires multitasking and prioritising.
Your core tasks will also include:
- Ensuring accurate and up-to-date equipment master data in CMMS (MEX).
- Improving stores and inventory processes.
- Procurement, maintain inventory levels, identify and rectify stock anomalies, and update the parts catalogue, inventory audits.
- Collaborate with maintenance planners to improve part DIFTOS.
- Control day-to-day spending and process invoices promptly.
- Train and educate contractors on tools, parts, and chemical management policies.
You, the Candidate:Attitude is key. We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn, works well under pressure as you’ll be working in a fast-paced role where multitasking and prioritising will be essential. As you’ll be looking after the inventory for the engineering department, ideally you will have worked in that space before, whether that’s as an engineer, or an inventory controller, etc.
In addition, the ideal candidate will have the following skills, experience & qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing (preferably in food or dairy).
- Relevant trade, diploma, or qualification preferred.
- Parts procurement and working in CMMS.
- Implementing and maintaining new systems / technology.
- Analytical, and financial modelling skills, experience working effectively to a budget.
- Able to identify cost savings and improvements.
- Excellent decision making, able to prioritise and multitask.
- Strong communication, works well in a team, able to train and coach.
- Resilience under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving.
You must be willing to permanently relocate to Christchurch for this role.
Location & Affordability: If you don’t already live there, Christchurch is an attractive coastal place to live, it is a well setup major city in New Zealand and is also one of the most affordable major cities to live in too. The location of the plant is convenient, being close to the city and to a lot of accommodation and schools, rather than being out in the countryside like many other major plants are.
